Summer Camp  2026

To help you prepare for Sports Montréal’s Summer Camp, we invite you to read the Parent Guide carefully.

Updated: July 8, 2026

Everything you need to know to get ready for Summer Camp 2026!

Welcome to the Sports Montréal Day Camp!

As every year, the team has been hard at work for several weeks now to plan and organize a program that will get youth moving, while ensuring their safety and promoting their well-being. Camp counselors, coordinators, and management are working together to offer young participants an unforgettable experience!

In this guide, you will find all the information you need to properly prepare your child’s stay at camp. Thank you for taking the time to read it carefully.

The Sports Montréal Day Camp Team

The term “parent” is used to refer to the child’s legal guardian.

Precamp email

During the week preceding camp, an email will be sent to you with the following information:

  • Your child’s counselor’s name
  • Your password for picking up your child
  • Your barcode
  • The theme of the day and the costume (if applicable)
  • The week’s special activity

Schedule

Schedule
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Extended Care Service
  • 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m

At the time of registration, you set a password to be able to pick up your child. This is a safety measure that allows us to ensure that children leave with authorized individuals. Anyone picking up a child will need to provide the password to the counselor or at the reception desk.

Barcode

We have updated our attendance procedure by introducing a unique barcode system for each child. You will find below the barcode to present at the camp reception when dropping off or picking up your child.

It is strongly recommended to add your children’s barcodes to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. This barcode will remain the same throughout the summer.

For children who are allowed to leave on their own, we ask that you print the barcode and place it in the label holder on your child’s backpack.

What to bring

Lunch and Snacks

Each day, your child must bring:

  • A lunch
  • 2 snacks
  • Water bottle

Children will not have access to a refrigerator or a microwave.

The lunch period lasts one hour and takes place between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Counselors eat with the children.

It is important to provide at least two snacks so your child has enough energy throughout the day and can fully participate in activities.

Water is the best drink to stay hydrated during the day. Since water fountains are not easily accessible at all activity areas, it is important to provide a reusable water bottle that your child can refill.

Required Items

All campers are required to have the following items with them:

  • Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing for physical activity
  • Sunscreen and a hat/cap for outdoor activities
  • A lunch box with an ice pack
  • A reusable water bottle
  • A swimsuit and towel
  • A plastic bag or waterproof bag (e.g., to bring back wet clothes)
  • A sweater or hoodie for cooler moments
  • A raincoat for rainy days
  • Optional: a flotation device for the pool

*Please remember to clearly label your child’s belongings.

Please note that this is a camp focused on outdoor activities. Unless there is heavy rain, continuous rainfall, or extreme heat, children will be outside at all times. It is therefore essential to provide appropriate clothing.

Prohibited Items
  • Electronic devices
Personal items not needed at camp. Only one personal toy is allowed (the same one for the entire camp), for arrival and departure periods only.

    • Example: a book, a figurine, a yo-yo, etc.
  • Playing cards, such as Pokémon cards, are not allowed, as they often lead to envy and conflicts.

Where to report at the beginning and end of the day

Locations

  • You may use the school parking lot or street parking. You must walk your child to the designated day camp entrance, located next to the gymnasium.

  • After June 26, children must enter through the entrance located on Richmond Street, near the gymnasiums. Please note that you may park in the semicircle. Kindly do not use the adult education center’s parking lot.

  • Entry is through the West Community Centre.

Epipen and medications

Epipen

If your child has an EpiPen:

  • They must keep it with them in their bag AT ALL TIMES. Counselors are not authorized to hold onto them.
  • If your child does not have their EpiPen with them, they will not be allowed to join their group or participate in the day’s activities.
  • You must indicate that your child has an EpiPen in their possession on their Amilia profile.
  • It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure the proper storage of the EpiPen. At certain times during the day, children’s bags may be kept outdoors.

*Additional EpiPens are kept in the coordinators’ office as a precaution.

Medications

To be handed in at the reception table in the morning.

All medication must be given to the camp reception table to be stored safely. This also applies to over-the-counter medication.

When dropping off the medication, you will need to complete an information form to indicate dosage and provide your authorization for your child to take it if needed.

Please note that camp staff cannot administer medication; the child must be able to take it on their own, under supervision.

To prevent potential allergic reactions among other children in the group, medication must be taken under the supervision of a coordinator.

If your child needs their medication, they can ask their counselor, who will accompany them to the coordinators’ office.

Must-Do Activities

At Sports Montréal, we go above and beyond to offer our campers an unforgettable experience. In addition to the scheduled activities, here are our traditions for a successful summer!

Camp Kick-Off Gathering: Monday

On the very first day, all groups meet in front of the stage. It’s THE party you don’t want to miss to start the week off right. This is where we introduce the entire camp team, present an episode of the weekly theme (the week’s quest), and teach the official summer dance!

Big Game:

Each week, your child’s group will take part in a large group game alongside other groups to try to solve the quest introduced on Monday.
Riddles, puzzles, and challenges will be part of the fun to put their skills to the test.

Costume Day: Friday

Every Friday, we invite your children to dress up with us according to the week’s theme.
The costume theme will be indicated in the pre-camp email.

End-of-Camp Celebrations:

The end of camp is something to celebrate! Whether it’s a fair or big group games, Friday afternoon is full of surprises so children can enjoy a great time with their friends.

Please note that on Fridays, children may sometimes have access to candy, Mr. Freeze treats, and/or popcorn. If your child has any restrictions regarding these items, please let us know.

And of course, no end-of-camp celebration is complete without a gathering!

Star of the Week Awards: Campers and counselors who stood out for their attitude and efforts during the week are recognized.

Theme Finale: This is when we find out if the groups successfully completed the week’s mission—the suspense is at its peak!

And of course, everyone dances a little more to end things on a high note!

Code of Conduct: Promoting Positive Relationships at Camp

All adults and campers must foster a harmonious environment that respects everyone’s rights and responsibilities.

The basic principle for everyone is to refrain from any words, actions, or attitudes that may harm the well-being of others at camp.

Respect for Self
  • I wear clothing appropriate for sports activities and camp life.
  • I wear the required protective equipment.
  • I stay with my group’s counselor at all times.
Respect for Others
  • I listen to and follow my counselor’s instructions and guidance.
  • I use respectful language when speaking to others.
  • I express myself calmly and seek non-violent solutions in case of conflict.
  • I show respect and honesty toward everyone at camp.
Respect for the Environment
  • I take care of camp equipment.
  • I clean up after myself and dispose of my waste in the garbage, recycling, or compost.
I am not allowed to:
  • Swear or use inappropriate language.
  • Hit others or engage in fights.
  • Leave my group during the day.
  • Throw objects.
  • Be disrespectful toward counselors.
  • Damage equipment or vandalize the site or buildings.
Note to parents:

Managing emotions and group dynamics may sometimes lead to conflicts between children and/or with counselors. We encourage you to discuss this with your child so they can learn to express themselves calmly and seek non-violent solutions in case of conflict. Thank you for your cooperation.

Consequences for Not Following the Code of Conduct
  1. Verbal warning from the counselor
  2. Intervention by the counselor and temporary removal from activities
  3. Meeting with a coordinator and development of an action plan (parents are notified — first warning)
  4. Suspension of the child and meeting with the camp supervisor and parents to address behavior before returning to activities (second warning)
  5. Expulsion from camp activities for the remainder of the season

*Depending on the severity of the behavior, the range of consequences may be adjusted to be more severe.

Lost and Found

Lost-and-found items are gathered on a table at the entrance to the gymnasium. We encourage you to check it regularly.

Items lost during a given week of camp will be kept for one additional week after the end of camp. After that, they will be discarded or donated to a charitable organization.

Groups and Friend Pairing

If you would like your child to be grouped with a friend, both families must enter the friend’s name in the designated field in their Amilia account no later than the Tuesday before the start of your camp week.
